Hot dip galvanisation + powder coating
Weland's roof safety products are always hot dip galvanised. In certain cases, the customer wants the roof safety products to "blend into the environment" on the roof.
In order to meet these wishes, we also stock most of the products in powder coated versions, in brick red, black and grey. The powder-coated products have particularly good corrosion protection, as they are hot dip galvanised before being painted. This means that even if the paint is damaged, the steel will not rust.
Colors

Products are stocked in:
- Hot dip galvanised / Zink/Magnesium ZM310
- Painted red (RAL 3009)
- Painted black (RAL 9005)
- Painted gray (RAL 7011)
- Painted brick red (RAL 8004)
Other colours, copper and stainless steel are available by order. We keep part of our stainless steel range in stock.
Hot dip galvanisation
Hot dip galvanisation – the maintenance-free corrosion protection with an unsurpassed service life.
Hot dip galvanised steel has very long-lasting corrosion protection. In a normal environment it can have a service life of 60-80 years. The zinc that is precipitated out with the rain water forms compounds that do not dissolve easily, which in turn has a negligible impact on the environment.
All other surface treatment of steel creates the need for maintenance, and during its lifecycle this has a significant impact on the environment. The most important reason for selecting hot dip galvanisation is the considerable increase in the maintenance-free service life. It is there that the really great environmental benefit can be achieved!
What is hot dip galvanisation?
Products made of steel that are to be protected against rust are immersed in a zinc bath, containing melted zinc at a temperature of approx. 455°C. When the steel comes into contact with the liquid zinc, a reaction occurs between the metals. Steel and zinc alloy with each other, and the adhesion is perfect.
We perform hot dip galvanisation in accordance with standard SS-EN ISO 1461, which corresponds to C3 in BSK07.
Zinc layer – service life
On our hot dip galvanised products, a service life of 60-80 years can be anticipated. All other surface treatment
of steel creates the need for maintenance, and during its lifecycle this has a significant impact on the environment. The most important reason for selecting hot dip galvanisation is the considerable increase in the maintenance-free service life. It is there that the really great environmental benefit can be achieved.
Zink/Magnesium ZM310
Zink/Magnesium ZM310 is an innovative metal coating that provides protection against long-term wear in the most demanding environments. The explanation for the unique corrosion protection is the addition of three percent magnesium in the coating, which gives the material up to ten times better corrosion resistance than hot-dip galvanized steel.
The unique properties of the material in combination with low cost make the metal-coated sheet metal a strong challenger to, for example, post-galvanized or lacquered materials, and in some cases also to stainless steel.
We use Zink/Magnesium ZM310 in sheet metal up to 4mm thick where welding is not present.
